Sherwoods Vauxhall sale to Drive Motor Group, September 2018

"This sale marks the end of a chapter in the long history of the illustrious Sherwoods business for my Father and I. However it is a new chapter for the outstanding Sherwoods team who will go on under the banner of the Drive Motor Group.
It is of course tinged with some sadness. When you’ve worked with a great team like this for so long, with so many people with the decades of service as Sherwoods boasts, they become your extended family and it feels a bit like the end of an era.
That said, we know it is the right decision and a really positive step for the team to be part of the larger Drive Group and the many benefits of scale and resource that Drive brings. They are a first class team and will go on to continued success I am certain. The continuity that this deal provides the Sherwoods staff also then transfers across to out loyal customers, who will still get to deal with the same friendly faces. All customer arrangements, warranties and service plans etc, are protected and go on with the team.
I’d like to express our thanks to our customers, many of whom have become our friends also over the years. We know we are leaving them in good hands for the future."
Questions and Answers
"Does my Sherwoods warranty still cover me in the future?"
Yes, Drive will be honouring all new car and used car warranties. Even the Sherwoods warranties will transfer over; customers will be unaffected.
"What about my Service Plan?"
Customers with Service Plans will be unaffected, these will transfer over to Drive. The Service Plan funds are all kept in a protected, ring fenced account in-line with industry best practice.
"I am used to dealing with a certain member of staff, will this change?"
The full Sherwoods staff will be transferred to Drive so customers will be free to deal with the same members of staff as they have before.
"Will any of the sites be closing?"
Drive have made it clear there are no plans to make any redundancies or site closures.
"I have paid a deposit for a new car that is coming after the 1st of October, what happens to this?"
You have nothing to worry about as your car will be supplied as planned; just as it would have been from Sherwoods. All signed orders will be honoured.
